Christina & Pawel . The Engagement
When asked what they like to do together, Christina said we like to play monopoly, eat gelato, and watch movies. For their engagement session, we did just that! Well, minus the watching movie part. It would just be creepy for me, the wedding photographer, to tag along as the third wheel in a movie theatre. Instead, we hung out outside of Garneau. Which in my opinion, made for really cool photos. Thank you for your creative eye and idea Pawel!! And Christina, need I say more?!? You’re gorgeous, smart and wear cool hair accessories. You’re my perfect bride.

Thank you for enduring what could only be described as “the most itchy” photoshoot I’ve ever participated in! I sure hope you’ve both recovered from all the mosquito bites!!

Michelle & Alan’s wedding was one that I hold dear to my heart. It’s one that I will reminisce for many years to come. I can even go as far as saying…if I were to shoot a friends wedding, this is how it would feel like. Throughout the planning of her wedding, Michelle and I would meet up for coffee dates. We’d chat 10 minutes about wedding, then another hour about life and girl stuff. More specifically, we’d talk about online shopping and the use of our car trunks as second closets (I’m sure most of you can relate, or not ;) ).
Michelle & Alan tied the knot in Mexico a week prior to throwing a huge party here in Edmonton. Till this day, I am still kicking myself for not joining them in Mexico! Needless to say though, the day I DID get to spend with them here was equally delightful. We started off the day with Michelle getting ready in a beautiful loft apartment. Now THIS is a girl who put thoughts and effort into her photographs. Followed by an afternoon of photo fun, or should I say fashion shoot?!? These two gave me amazing shots one after another. I literally didn’t want the afternoon to end. Ask Michelle, I even made them late for their reception….sorry! And for the reception, these two hot tamales surprised us all with a hip-hop dance routine!
What Michelle said to me during her speech was probably some of the sweetest words any bride has ever spoken to me. Michelle, thank you. I am truly grateful for crossing paths with you and Alan. To say the very least, working with you two has been a remarkable experience and a highlight in my photographic journey.
Michelle and Alan, thank you for allowing me to witness the beginning of what will be , but also what already IS between you and Alan. I truly cannot wait to see how high you two will fly together (no pun intended with all the airplane shots 
) .

When asked what the secrets were to her happy successful marriage, Kristi’s mom answer was … an i love you in the morning, an i love you at night and a couple more i love you’s through out the day will surely do the trick. And never go to bed angry. When I left Kristi & Dwayne’s reception last month, I left with this overwhelming sense of wanting to be a better wife and wanting to work harder on my own marriage. I know I’m cheesy and mushy that way, but it truly is inspiring to watch the interactions between Kristi’s parents. Every time I catch a glimpse of them, they are surely looking at each other as though they were just married yesterday. It really is amazing. One of my favourite memories from Kristi & Dwayne’s wedding day was the gift that Dwayne had given Kristi. It wasn’t just any gift, it was Dwayne’s Mom’s wedding ring. In the card he wrote…i am giving you my mom’s wedding ring to bring our marriage good luck much like our parents. So sweet. So meaningful.
Kristi & Dwayne, thank you for throwing such a heart warming wedding. Thank you for your trust & faith in me, but mostly thank you for allowing me to witness such honest and authentic love that you both share with your family & friends. I couldn’t think of a better way to start off my 2010 wedding season!

People often don’t believe me when I tell them english is my second language. It’s true, english is my second language. If you’re a faithful blog reader, you probably would have noticed all the ching-lish and countless grammatical mistakes I have written all over this blog. One of the biggest challenges I find though for not speaking english my whole life is the inability to “get” jokes. Not that I don’t have a sense of humour or anything, I do (though some might argue), but I would say I’m generally slow at getting the punchline. Better yet, sometimes I can’t even tell if people are joking with me or if they’re being serious.
During Jenny & Jason’s e-esession a few weeks back, Jason asked if I was gonna bring my own dinner to their wedding. I’m sure I looked really confused, followed by looking really shocked because Jenny quickly came to my rescue and said he’s kidding, he’s kidding, he’s just being a jerk. Then we all laughed and I jokingly said I would make Jason look bad in all these pictures haha. Well, I tried (no, not really). But it was impossible to makes these two lovebirds look bad. I think Jenny & Jason might have been secretly practicing how to pose at home. I mean, look at them?!
Jenny & Jason – thank you for an evening full of fun and laughters. I am most certainly looking forward to your wedding. But please don’t bank on me telling you any good jokes because I suck at delivering them
